Physician Biography

Neuro-Ophthalmology is a subspecialty of both neurology and ophthalmology that focuses on disorders of vision and eye movements related to the nervous system, including disorders of the optic nerves and visual pathways, cranial nerves and neuromuscular junction (ocular myasthenia gravis). Common reasons for a neuro-ophthalmology evaluation include unexplained vision loss, idiopathic intracranial hypertension, brain tumors, pituitary tumors and sellar/suprasellar masses, intracranial aneurysms and cerebrovascular malformations, demyelinating disorders of the central nervous system, traumatic brain injury and eye movement disorders.
